CGS operates a Registered Business School and Licensed
Private School for individuals with disabilities. These schools
are registered and licensed by the New York State Education
Department’s Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision
(BPSS).

At CGS, the consumers learn cutting-edge skills and
immediately put them into practice at their internships in New
York City’s leading companies. All students must be referred
by VESID, which sponsors their training.

The consumers’ support services - such as personal and
career counseling and intensive job preparation – are provided
along with their career training. As their training advances, the
Job Developer works closely with the consumers to help them
find suitable employment.

The BPSS career training programs are:
•  Office and Computer Technology
•  Custodial Careers
•  Child Care Level 1 and Level 2 (CDA)
•  Certified Pet Care Technician

From Enrollment to Employment:

•  Each consumer must meet the specific program’s entrance / admission requirements

•  The enrollee meets with a CGS School Agent to sign an Enrollment Agreement for the course as well as a
   Counseling Plan.

•  Each course has its own special rules and expectations. The student’s responsibilities are clearly outlined –
   every student knows exactly what he or she must do to meet the graduation requirements.

•  After the student has completed all course requirements, the graduate will be awarded a Certificate of
   Completion, or a diploma when applicable.

•  The Job Developer assists the student to find a job and provides ongoing support to enable the newly-graduated,
   newly-employed CGS consumer to retain it.
