CGS Work Adjustment Training (WAT)
Food Services Program
The 195 day Food Services Training Program prepares trainees for competitive employment in corporate, hospital and university cafeterias, executive dining rooms, department store and museum eating establishments and in selected chain restaurants.
These trainees receive comprehensive classroom instruction, hands-on food preparation practices and development of work-related habits and attitudes. In order to further enhance the training and assist the trainees to adapt to the demands in the corporate world, CGS offers an internship program which is designed to create business linkages and on-the-job training experiences. This internship not only develops marketable skills, but also sensitizes our trainees to the requirements and expectations of the private and public sectors. The instructor/trainer provides on-site supervision and support.

- Pantry Worker
- Dining Room Attendant
- Beverage Service Attendant
- General Utility Worker
- Salad Preparer
- Pot Washer
- Sandwich Preparer
Admission Requirements
- 2nd or 3rd grade level of reading is acceptable.
- Good physical endurance and strength for long standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
- Adequate finger dexterity and bi-manual coordination.
- Acceptable work speed level.
- Interest in food service occupations.
- Ability to follow simple verbal and written directions.
- Must be willing to work early hours
