Trainees received comprehensive classroom instruction and hands-on practice. Most important, they develop the work-related habits and attitudes employers expect. In order to help trainees adapt to the world of work, CGS provides internships and mentoring programs designed to sensitize and support trainees as they work to meet the requirements and expectations of public and private employers. The CGS internship and mentoring programs begin when candidates have completed preparatory training and meet basic performance standards, attendance and punctuality requirements. CGS job counselors monitor internships closely to make the experience a positive one for both trainee and employer. Internships are assigned and supervised at no cost to the employer. This strong collaboration with the business community is the final phase of training and helps trainees apply their newly-learned skills as they adjust to the realities of the workplace.
