Rapid growth in the hospitality industry means new job opportunities for persons with disabilities. CGS has developed an innovative 130 day training program to prepare consumers for occupations such as:

  • Housekeeping Room Attendant
  • Porter Maintenance Staff
  • Linen Room Attendant
  • Laundry Staff
  • Room Inspector

the ideal candidate has good people skills, is physically able, has good communication skills with a minimum of 3rd grade reading and math skills and is able to work non-traditional hotel schedules.

This unique training program includes:

  • Introduction to the Hospitality Industry
  • Career Exploration
  • Hotel Organization
  • Food Services
  • Customer Relations
  • Hotel Security
  • Practicum Experience (Housekeeping, Food Service, Porter Maintenance)

In addition, consumers learn job search skills, resume preparation, and interview techniques. An externship is designed to insure success in the workplace and improve job retention. Program staff provides orientation and support to the employer and workers at the site and work closely with consumers to insure success. This comprehensive program takes consumers from introduction to job placement in an exciting career with many opportunities for continuous learning and advancement.
