CGS Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy helps individuals improve performance in order to be more successful in competitive work situations. Therapy includes work on specific tasks that will help to overcome, or help to compensate for skill deficits. Treatment sessions try to come as close as possible to the actual work environment and tasks that the consumer expects to enter. Skills are broken down into their component parts, such as effective use of memory, attention, concentration, problem-solving and decision- making.
Each therapy program is highly individualized and consumer-specific. The consumer is directly involved in developing strategies to overcome the specific problems related to their performance at work. Consumers experience a real sense of success because occupational therapy helps them to build on their strengths as they work with the therapist to overcome areas of difficulty.
