Contemporary Guidance Services, Inc., offers lifelong follow-up services on behalf of consumers and functions as a liaison between its consumers and the corporate world. CGS works closely with each consumer from vocational counseling, through scheduling and preparation for interviews, job placement and follow up services.

CGS consumers are well prepared for the world of work through community-based internships, which are a vital part of each consumer's vocational preparation. During the last four months of skill training, consumers work eight hours a day, two days a week at internship sites. CGS vocational staff monitor their progress closely. CGS believes this real-world experience is an essential part of a successful transition to employment.

CGS has successfully placed its consumers throughout metropolitan New York in a variety of industries including manufacturing, investment banking, insurance, law firms, retail and business management, mass media, graphics, shipping, the hospitality industry, food service establishment, and healthcare agencies. Strong relationships with area employers has led to an extraordinary record of successful job placements.
